CITY COUNCIL.

A special meeting of the City Council was held last night, for the purpose of considering the question of the municipal designs. The members present were— His Worship the Mayor, Cra. Gapes, Bishop, Vincent, Taylor, Oherrill, Cuff, Hulbert, Wyatt, England, Lambert, King, and Ayers. The minutes of the former committee meetings of the Council and citizens were read and confirmed. The Mayor then said that he thought it would be better to discuss the matter privately, and therefore he would ask the Council to say whether they would take the subject in committee or not. It was resolved that the proceedings should be private.
