[bettter's telegrams.] SYDNEY, September 24. Sir Arthur Gordon reached Levnka on the 10th inst., after having concluded a treaty between England and Samoa. The Wagga Cup was run to-day, the the result being:— Sweetmeat - - - 1 Secundus - - -2 Swiveller - - - 3 A public meeting has been held at Plattsburg, at which resolutions wore adopted condemning the action of the Government in sending troops to the district. The steamer Strathleven will leave Sydney and Melbourne with a cargo of frozen meat, for England. MELBOURNE, September 24. It is expected the Government will obtain an absolute majority in the Assembly.
