Malls close at the Chief Post Offl«« ter the following plaoes (subject to necessary alterations) as under i TUESDAY, SEPT. 23. For Northern ports of New Zealand, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Wakatipu, at 4.45 p.m. Guard's van must not be used for Wakatipn's mails. For Chatham Islands, per Wakatipu (to connect with Omaha at Auckland), at 4.4 S p.m. Guard's van must not be nsed. The next mails for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for correspondence addressed per either of these routes only), will be closed at Christchurch on September 24. The mail via, Brindisi will be dne in London on November 17th, and the mail via Southampton on November 24th. SYDNEY J. DICE. Chief Postmaster.
