CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, September 18. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M. Drunk and Disorderly. One man, charged with being drunk, was fined ss, another 10s, and a third was remanded for forty-eight hours for medical treatment. Threatening a Wife’s Life. —George Brown was charged by his wife, Jane Brown, with threatening her life. Sergeant Morice stated that the defendant had been drinking heavily, and the doctor who had examined him was of opinion that ho was scarcely in a fit state to bo at large, as on the previous day his behaviour had been of an alarming description. He was remanded to Addington gaol for forty-eight hours.
