MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
OHRISTOHUBCH. TjItTitSDAY, Sbptbxbb, 4. [Before his Wo; ship the Mayor and D. Caro, Esq., J.P.] Dbunk and Dibokdebiy.—The following drunkards were fined :— Fire 10s, one 20«, and one 60s. Cheating a Distt/bbanoe. —Mary Byan, senr., and Mary Ryan, junr., mother and daughter, were charged with creating a disturbance in Gloucester street on Wednesday night. The disturbance arose out of a family quarrel. Sergeant Morice stated that the elder woman was quite unfit to hare the control of the younger defendant, whom she was bringing up to lead a disreputable life. The Bench said that the younger defendant being fifteen years was too old to be sent to the Burnham Industrial School, but it was evident that her mother was totally unfit to have the oontrol of her. They would eaoh be fined 10«, and the elder defendant was cautioned that if she was not oaref ul she would be brought up under the Vagrant Act. John Henderson for using profane language in the public street was reprimanded and discharged with a caution for the future.
