Theannual general meeting of subscribers wan held in the hall on Saturday evening, at which there was a fair attendance, the president, T. E. Woodhouse, in the chair. The president then read the committee's report, which showed a balance in hand of £4B lis. After a few remarks on several portions of the report, it was proposed by Mr Franks, and seconded by Mr Dron—" That the report and balance sheet as read be adopted." Carried. Proposed by Mr Franks, seconded by Mr Bogers, and carried— " That a vote of thanki bo passed to the president and retiring committee." Proposed by Mr Smellie, seconded by Mr Bussell, and carried—" That a hearty vote of thanks be passed to Mr Mahler for his services as librarian." Proposed by Mr Sage, seconded by Mr Shaw, and carried—- " That Mr Smellie be elected president for the ensuing year." Proposed by Mr Dron, seconded by Mr Eraser—" That Mr Bogera be elected hon. sec. and treasurer." Proposed by Mr Sage, seconded by Mr Smellie—- " That Mr O'Carrol be elected hon. sec. and treasurer." The two were thenSballoted for, which roßulted in the election of Mr Bogera. The following were elected the committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs C. Sage, H. Mahler, F. W. Franks, J. Bubscll, J. Dron. It was proposed by Mr Dron, seconded by Mr Smellie, and carried—" That Messrs Woodhouse and Shaw be appointed auditors." The secretary was instructed to write to Mr Moore and request the delivery of the trust deed, also to request some information about the books ordered from England. Resolved —" That Mr Shaw be asked to draw a plan of the proposed addition, and that the secretary call for tenders at once, the committee to meet on Friday evening next to receive them." A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman, which concluded the proceedings.
