Opening of Parliament.
SECOND EDITION
(By Telegraph.] [per press agency.] WELLINGTON, July 11. Parliament was opened by Commission today, consisting of Colonel Whitmore, Sir F.D. Bell, and Major Richmond. The Premier proposed Mr O’Rorko as Speaker, and Major Atkinson secondedBoth referred to Mr O’Borke in the highest terms of eulogy, and he was elected unanimously and warmly applauded when returning thanks to the compliment paid him. Mr Whitaker congratulated Mr O’Rorke, and spoke in a most complimentary manner of his career. Tho House then adjourned till two o’clock on Tuesday next.
