[reuter’s telegrams.] THE KELLY GANG. MELBOURNE, Juno 17. The movements of the sympathisers of the Kelly gang are exciting much comment. It is stated by the Police Department that important information as to the movements of the Kollys may bo expected shortly. SYDNEY, June 16. A Bill has been introduced by tbe Government in the Legislative Assembly to prevent the influx of criminals. The measure has especial reference to the Communists and other discharged prisoners from Now Caledonia. BRISBANE, June 16. The Queensland Government have called for tenders for a mail service via Torres Straits, to bo either fortnightly or monthly. [Yin Bluff.] MELBOURNE, June 15. There has been much stirring politically, and very little will be done until Mr Berry’s return next week. The weather has been cold and seasonable, with very little rain. Good progress is being made with the exhibition. Hogan, who shot his brother at Oarrawonga a short time ago, was executed yesterday at Beechworth. Scares are frequently being raised as to the whereabouts of the Kelly gang, but the police are unable to come upon any traces. “ H.M.S. Pinafore ” is being played simultaneously at the Academy of Music and St. George’s Hall. “ Henry Y.” is still being continued at the Princess. Business is still very dull, and complaints are general. Mining is slightly improved. The new rush near Orville, Dunolly district, is turning out well, and there is more enquiry for mining stock generally. There is something like a dead-lock in Tasmania, where the Council refuse to vote more than six months’ supplies, and have also rejected the Income and Property Tax Bill. Mimsters have not yet indicated what course they intend to take. In Adelaide the financial policy of the Government is regarded unfavorably by the Opposition, and an amendment on the address in reply, tantamount to a want of confidence motion, is now being discussed, but will probably result favorably to the Government. West Australia has been celebrating the jubilee of the foundation of the colony. It has been ascertained that there are still seventy persons living who came out in 1829.
