ENGLISH & FOREIGN.
[PEB PEBSS AGENCY.] LONDON, June 12. Further nows from the Cape states that Sir Bartlo Fere had granted a temporary constitution to the Transvaal Boers, who wore satisfied with the concessions made. No important movement of tho British forces had taken place owing to tho difficulty of transport. A raid had been made into Zulu land, and a quantity of cattle brought in. Cetawayo’s army was reported to be mustering in large numbers. Mr Gladstone declined to express an opinion on Mr Berry’s mission. He believed that tbe deliberate judgment of a majority would ultimately prevail, and thought an amicable settlement in Victoria, without resort to England, was eminently desirable. ASCOT CUP.
