Mails close at the Chief Poet Offioc for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations. SATURDAY, MAY 21. For Otago ami Australian Colonics, per Tararna, at 1.50 p.m.; late fco letters, 2.10 p.m.; guard’s ■van, 2.t0 p.m. train. For Capo Town and Natal, per Bothwell Castle, at 030 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.30 a.in. train. Mails per Hawea will close as follows; —For the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, West Indies, via Sau Francisco, Sandwich Islands, Now Soulli Wales and Queensland, Northern Ports of Now Zealand, Ac., ordinary letters at 3 p.m.; late fee letters at 3.15 p.m.; registered letters, books and newspapers, at 2 p.m.; money orders at 1 p.m.; guard’s van, 1 p.m. train. The English portion of this mail will bo duo in London ou July Bth, Supplementary mails forthe Australian Colonies, Trill be closed at Christchurch ou Tuesday, May 27th, at 7.30 a.m. . . The next mail for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton (for specially addressed letters only), will be closed at Christchurch, ou Monday, Juno 2nd. The mail via Brindisi will be duo in London on July 28th, and the mail via Southampton, on August 4th. NOTICE, Monday, May 26th, will he observed as a Holiday by all departments of tho Post-office.
