AUSTRALIA.
[SPECIAL to globe,] Sydney, April 24. Four hundred carpenters employed on the Exhibition buildings have struck for 12s per eight hours. The Government firmly refuse to advance the rate of wages, saying that if necessary they will use canvas. Six hundred carpenters are now wanted at 10s 6d per eight hours.
