NEW ZEALAND. [PEB PBKBB AGBNOY.] Wellington, April 15. The first annual meetting of the shareholders in the Golden Point (iold Mining Company has been held. The mining manager's report shows that a great deal preparatory work has been done in the way of shafts and tunnels, and the erection of machinery. Ho reports that large bodies of stone have been cut. In several places where the stone was tried, it yielded at the rate of five ounces to to the ton. No water to speak of has yet been eivountered. There is a seven-horse power ene-ine and pumping gear. Two wharves havo been erected, and the breastwork built so that a vessel can be alongside and discharge at the mouth of the tunnel It is expected that in tho course of two or tnrco months everything will bo in good wording order, with a quantity of gold-bearing quartz to begin crushing with The "New Zealander" strongly disapproves of the removal of Warden Bevel], of Greymouth, from there, and of Warden Broad from Westport. The detention of the Ringarooma yesterday was sole'y due to strong head winds throughout her passage from Port Chalmers. H.M.S. Emerald will leave Wellington the day after Governor Robinson proceeds South, and will go direct to the Auckland Islands to make the usual annual examination for wrecks or castaways, and to see what condition the stores of provisions are in. She will probably return to some port in the North Island. Auckland, April 15.
