The Board of Trade returns of imports for the past month amount to £29,875,500, showing a decrease of £3,343,750 compared with last year. The returns of exports for the past month amount to £16,187,500, showing a decrease of £593,750. The Brindisi mail was delivered in London on the 7th. London, April 7. The Secretary of State for the Colonies, in reply to a question, said that the sincerity of Cetewayo’s peace proposals was doubtful. Complete submission alone would satisfy the British Government. Colonel Paterson has made a road, shortening the distance to Ekowe by three miles. The House of Commons has adjourned for the Easter recess. [special to globe.] London, April 7.
