POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chiel Post Office tor the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations FRIDAY, APRIL 4. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Southern Cross, at 11.15 am.; late fee letters, 11,30 a.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train.
SATURDAY, APRIL 5. For Wanganui, per St. Kilda, at 11.15 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.30 a.m,; lato letter box, guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Otago. For Otago, per Hawon, at 1.50 p.m.; lato fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m, train. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wauaka, at 6.30 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for this mail. The next mails for the United Kingdom via Brindisi and Southampton (specially addressed letters only), will be closed at Christchurch on April 7th. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on Jane 2nd, and the mail via Southampton on June 9th. The next mail for the United Kindom via San Francisco will bo closed at Christchurch on April 25th, and will be duo in London on Juno 10th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
