POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails olose at the Chief Post Office for th* following plaoes as under, sabjeot to the necessary alterations :~- TUESDAY, APRIL 1. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, per Claud Hamilton, at 4.45 p.m.; late letter box, guard's van, must not be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2. For Australian Colonies, per express train to Duuedin, at 7.30 a m. For Kaikoura, per Huia, at 4.45 p.m. j late letter box, guard's van, must not be used for this mail. For Northern ports, per Arawata. For Otago, per Wnkatipu. For Nelson and Westport, per Star of the South. The next mails for the United Kingdom via Brindisi and Southampton will be closed at Christchurch on April 7th. The mail via Brindisi will be due in London on June 2nd, and the mail via Southampton on June 9th. The next mail for the United Kindom via San Francisco will be closed at Christchnrch on April 25th, and will be due in London on June 10th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
