Interprovincial Prize Firing
[Ey Tkleceaph.] Nelson, March 10. Th* seventeenth match was begun directly after dinner. There were 114 entries, the ranges being 400, 500, and 600 yards. It was 5.30 when the second range was concluded. To-morrow morning early, a start will be made with the eighteenth match, which it is hoped will bo finished by dinner time. After that there will be a rapidity match for a prize offered by Mr Hunter Brown and other prizes given by the Association. The iucu will fall in at a point between (100 and 500 yards ranges and lire lor nine seconds ; they will then advance to a point between the 500 and 400 yards ranges, and fire as many shots as possible; the whole time Hjjing three minutes, only. This includes the tim; taken in advancing from one range to the other. There are yet the two small bore matches, with upwards of 90 entries in each, and a consolation match to be fired.
