In the grain market farmers have takcu advantage of the change in the weather, and are busy harvesting, and a paucity of sales is the result. Growers are enquiring as to tbe facilities for direct home shipment. Wheat. 2s 10d to 3s; oats, 2s 3d to 2a 6d; and barley, 4s to 4s 3d. Donedin, February 21. Business during the week has been quiet, much hindered by holidays on Wednesday and to-day. Operations in all goods were confined to consumers and purchasers at auction. The Sunbeam's corrugated iron brought £24 10s all round. Hennessy .dull, scarce, and firm at last quotations. Cement improving. Parcels to arrive sold at 19s. In whiskey, rum, Geneva, and schnapps little is doing. First brands are scarce and in demand. Tennant's quarts, Foster, bulldog, and McEwan's quarts quite out of first hands. Tiie wool market is quiet. Nothing is anticipated before the sales early in March. Wheat is dead, the new grain not appearin r. Operations are nil, and quotations merely nominal. Offers of Northern at 3s have been reported. Some few parcels of new feed oats changed hands at 3s ; samples generally are good. Barley is in demand, but very scarce.
