Easby, from Melbourne, for Newcastle and Wellington, sailed for the former port February 9th. The barques Lett erf onrie, Adolphoi, Matthieu, and Woodville, from Newcastle for here, sailed Norval is announced for Auckland by Messrs Cuff and Graham. . . The brig Raymond, hence for Newcastle, made a good run of ten days across. She arrived on the linion steamship Wanaka is duo from Port Chalmers on Saturday, en route to Auckland, whence she will leave the same night via Wellington and intermediate ports. , The s.s. Gazelle, hence, arrived at Melbourne on the Bth inst., twenty-three days oat. The brig Transport left Newcastle for Lyttelton, February Bth. , . , The barques Bells and Waratah were moved into tho stream yesterday, the Nightingale to Peacock s Wharf, the barque Examiner to No. 5, the Italy to No 3, and the Omaha to tho Screw Pile Jetty. Tho Ada C. Owen, at the last-named wharf, finished discharging last night. The barque Examiner, belonging to Mr C. W. Turner’s line, arrived on Tuesday night, seven days from Greymonth, Captain Sconllar reports being becalmed for twonty-four hours eight miles from Greymonth, succeeded by light airs and calms until Capo Campbell was made, thence strong N.W. wind to Kaikonra, followed by strong southerly wind until Monday last, when a light N.E. wind sprang up. Tho Union Company’s steamer Albion arrived at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, nineteen hours from Port Chalmers, and seven days and a half from Melbourne via tho Bluff, Mr Mackillop, her purser, reports :—S,W. winds were the rule on the run across, accompanied with fine clear weather, until reaching the Swan, from thence to Bluff a strong swell sot in, with occasional rain. From Blnff, along tho Coast, flue weather and smooth sea. Discharged 170 tons of cargo yesterday, and took in thirty tons for Wellington, whence she sailed at 7 p.m. yesterday. The schooner Nslson, three days from Pelorns Bound, arrived on Tuesday night. Passed Kaikoura with a N.W. wind, followed by light changeable airs to arrival. The Gazelle, a small iron steamer of 78 tons, which years ago used to trade in Hobson’s Bay, arrived on Saturday, February Bth, after having made a voyage under cinvas from Lyttelton, N.Z. She left Lyttelton on 15th December, and had light S.E. winds in the beginning of the passage. She then encountered a strong gale from the S.W., and during the latter part of her voyage had light S.E. and south breezes with thick fogs. Tho present owners, Messrs Bright Brothers and Co., have, it is said, purchased her for trading to Waratah Bay, where they have large mineral interests. —“ Age.” THE BRIG RAYMOND ASHOEB. THEEE MEN DROWNED. [press special wire.] Wellington, February 19. The brig Raymond, which left Newcastle on the 4th, hound toTinmvu, with coals, has been beached at Cape Howe in a sinking condition.
