SYDENHAM WAYS.
To the Editor of the Globe. Sib,—l am a valetudinarian, living on the South Belt. One fine morning lately, I stared for a stroll into the Borough of Sydenham, but had not got far through Durham street gate before I found a horse fastened to a fence, and standing right across the footpath. Not liking horses' heAs, I scrambled the best way I could into the road and on to the path again, but, on looking ahead, I perceived a butcher's boy fastening another horse in the same manner, upon which I took to the road, and returned to the belt. I told my husband my adventure, upon which he said, "I am frequently through borough, and in the back streets I generally eee two or three horses feeding about, or standing on the paths. In fact, I believe many people desired incorporation that thoy might allow their horses to run at large, and commit other irregularities with impunity." So much, Mr Editor, for the famous borough. Surely, if the Council have not had the footpaths proclaimed, it is time they should be. Yours, &c, RESIDENT.
