Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the ( Bowing places as under, subject to the neoessarv Uterationn MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 4.45 p.m,; late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Wakatipu. For United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton, specially addressed letters only, India, China, the East, Australian colonies, and Otago, per Arawata, at 1 p.m.; late fee letters, 145 p.m. ; late letter box, guard’s van, 2 40 p.m. train. Books, newspapers, and registered letters, at noon. Money orders, at 11.30 a.m. Supplementary mails for tho United Kingdom, will close on Thursday, February 13th, at 7.30 a.m. for despatch overland by express train to connect with the mail steamers at Port Chalmers. Tho mail via Brindisi will bo due in Loudon on April 7th, and tho mail via Southampton on April 14th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will closo at Christchurch on February 28th, and will bo duo in London on April 15th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
