The steamer St. Kilda loft Dunedin on the 4th at 8 p.m., arrived at Oamaru on the sth at daylight, and sailed at 7 p.m., arriving here on Thursday evening with eleven passengers for Wanganni. She took in 60 tons of cargo and left for Wanganui at four o’clock yesterday afternoon. Plans showing the passenger accommodation of the new steamer Rotonmhana, now in conrso of construction on the Clyde for the Union Steamship Company, have been received at the head office, and are thus described by the Dnnedin “ Herald ”: — “ There are a great many two-berth cabins, and the narrow settees generally to he found in vessels are superseded by commodious sofas extending all round the saloon. The seats at the tables consist of pivot chairs similar to those in the Zealandia and Australia, and which are much appreciated by the travelling public. On deck there is to he a large ‘social hall’ for gentlemen (non-smokers) and ladies, which is to be provided with a piano. In the after part, of the ship will be a luxuriously fitted-up smoking room. On deck there will al-o be a large cabin denominated the bridal chamber. This will be f»r parties on wedding tours and others, who are able and willing to pay the addition 1 rates charged for the nso of this cabin." She will bo the largest of the company’s steamers, and fitted with engines of the latest pattern, capable of driving her fifteen knots per hour. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, Fohrnary 8.
