The Jane Dousrlas has jnst arrived. She was detained through having to discharge fifteen tons of coal for the Gleuolg, which is engaged getting the Hyderabad off. The weather not suiting, the Jane Douglas was unablel to tranship the coal into the Glenelg, and consequently lauded it at the contractors' wharf, Foxton river, where the plant from the Hydrabad is being landed. When the Jane passed the Hydrabad this morning that vessel appeared to be a quarter of a mile from where she was, but was still hanging by the stern, the boat being afloat, so that very little more towing will float the Hydrabad beyond all doubt. The weather being unfavorable this morning for the work the Glenelg was anchored a few lengths aside of the Hydrabad. ready to take advantage of any slant of wiud or weather. There is very little dangor of the Hydrabad being again blown ashore, as on the fir-t indication of unfavorable weather (she is filled with sufficient water to enable her to resist any ordinary change in the wind, and to hold her jjosition. When the wind becomes favorable the water is pumped oat and the work of towage begins. There is every appearance now of the weather moderating. Auckland, January 28. Arrived—The s.s. Hero, from Sydney. Tararua, from Sydney. Passengers for Lyttelton: Mr Oram aud a number of steerage.
