POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alteration® i WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 4.45 p.m. Late letter box, guard’s van, must not be used for tin® mail. THURSDAY, JANUARY 30. For Northern ports of New Zealand and Australian Colonies, per Rotorua, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on February Ist. and will be due in London on March 18th. The next mail for the United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi will close at Christchurch on February 12th. Tho mail via Brindisi will be duo in Loudon on April 7th, and the mail via Southampton on April 14th. NOTICE. A travelling Post Office having been established on the Southern line of railway, letters bearing a late fee of two pence may bo posted at any station in the mail carriage attached to the express train, and they will he included in the mails made up iu transit for offices on the main lino and branches.
