Partridge, barqne, 108 tons, Partridge, for Valparaiso. Master, agent. The "Wanaka sailed for Akaroa with abont 100 excursionists this morning, and returns this evening. The barque E. S. Partridge sailed for Valparaiso this morning. On October 12th the Westland, a finely-modelled iron sailing ship, was launched from tlie shipbuilding yard of Messrs Robert Duncan and Co., Port Glasgow, .he is of the following dimensions : —215 hy 35 by 21 feet; 1120 tons. This vessel is intended for Messrs P. Henderson and (Jo's line of Now Zealand packets. Ou leaving the ways she was named the Westland by Mrs .Captain Brown, wife of the superiutendentof the company. On October 11th the Glenelg, an iron screw steamer, built to the order of Captain M'Gregor and others, of Auckland, was launched by Messrs Blackwood and Gordon, Tort G lasgow. The following are her uiinousions : —135 by 22 by 9 leet ; 250 tons. The steamer will be supplied with compound surface-condensing engines of 80-horso power. At half-past nine o'clock on Saturday morning the Union Company's s.s. liawea returned from Port Chalmers, bringing 25 tons of general cargo and nine passengers. She left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. Friday and bad very line weather and smooth water along tlie coast. She took in 10 tons of freight, ana sailei same day at 8.30 p.m. for Auckland via East Coast ports, carrying in all 5t passengers. 'Hie Wave, brig, sailed from the Bluff for Lytteltou on Thursday, December i2th. The Union Company's s.s. Wakatipu goes on the dry dock at Dunediu, whence she is adver used to sail for Sydney via Lytteltou and Wellington next Thursday. The Ttti, s.s., is advertised to sail for Kaikoura, "Wellington, and Foxton on "Wednesday evening next. Tho barque Bells, for Newcastle, and the ship AlexandorMeNeil, for tue same destination, cleared at the Customs on Saturday. The Bells' berth at No. 1 Wharf is assigned to tho Southern Cross, from Hobart Town. The ship Crusader is fast loading, and will be ready to depart for London next Thursday or Friday. Tho Waitaugi, also bound for London, with a full cargo, has her yards up and sails bent, and will probably go to sea one day this week. The data of tho departure of the Southern Cross is changed by advertisement to Wednesday next, the 18th iust., at 5 p.m., at which hour she will leave for Auckland, via the East Coast. Of home ships now on their way to Canterbury, the following may bo looked for at an early day : Jasper, from Glasgow, out 75 days, a.id the Tunes, from Loudon, 73 days. From New York, via Port Chalmers, the Helen Augier, which arrived at Dunediu on the oth instant, is receiviug prompt despatch, and her departure from the latter port for Lyttelton with her cargo of American merchandise will probably be reported this week. THE AMERICAN BARO/UENTINE AMELIA. After a very quick passage of fifty-one days from Puget Sonud, the barqueutine Amelia anchored in port yesterday afternoon. She is a thorough lumber-carrying clipper, built with an immense beam, expressly for the accommodation of a large deck cargo. She comes loaded down to the water's edge wiih a hold full of Oregon's liiiest timber, and almost as much more piled upon the deck. Directly her anchor was down, Dr. Donald, the health officer, made his official visit. The following are the particulars of the voyage : —Left Port Townsond, W.T., October, crossed the line in 155 W. ou 20th November, sighted Cape Pulliser on the 12th iust. The Amelia is an Oregon built vessel, live years old, and is owned by Captain C. E. Foye, who commands her, his consignee being Mr C. W. Turner. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Pour Chalmeks, December It. Wellinoton, December 10. The ship Hermione. with abont 300 immigrants for Wellington and Taranaki 100 days out from Plymouth, is now at the Heads. She has had one death from typhoid fever, and there are still nine cases on board. Tho Hawea has gone out to tow her in to the quarantine ground, the health Officer will go oil to her first thing in the morning. Arrived—l.l3o p.m., Hawea, from Lyttelton. Wellington, December 16. The schooner Torea has been launched, and taken on to Picton for repairs.
