Mails olose at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, aubjeot to the necessary alterations : THUBSDAY, DECEMBEE 12. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. j late letterbox, guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 14. For Northern ports, per Hawea. For the United Kingdom via Suez and Brindisi on Wednesday, December 18th. The mail via Southampton will be due in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1879.
