Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11. For Northern ports of New Zealand, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letterbox,’ guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For the United Kingdom via Suez and Brindisi on Tuesday, December 17th, , The mail via Southampton will be due in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th. 1879. , „ „ For the United Kingdom via San Francisco, on January 3rd, 1879.
