Mary King, schooner, 73 tons, Bailey, for Picton. Geo. Mackay, agent. The Mary King, for Picton, Aspasia, for Pelorns Sound, and the Shepherdess, for Wellington, sailed this morning. The Linda Weber arrived from Kaipara this morning. „ The C.G. s.s. Stella, says the "Dunedm Herald, Captain M'Kersie, arrived at the Railway Pier at 345 p.m. yesterday. She left Wellington at 2 a.m. on the 29th ult. with 40 tons telegraph material to be used in stretching a special wire for Press parposes through the Middle Island. As the weather ■was very foggy, she anchored under Cape Campbell on the morning of the 30th ult., and afterwards ■visited the wreck of the ship Southminster, which Hes four miles south of Cape Campbell. Captain M'Kersie boarded her, and found the crew bnsily engaged in landing the cargo. As no assistance was needed the Stella moved on, calling at Flaxbonrne, Kekerangu, Waipapa, Boat Harbour, Kaikonra, Oraro, Amuri Bluff, and Gore Bay, landing telegraph wire at each of those places. She left Gore Bay at 11 a.m. on Monday, and arrived as above. Such a dense fog hung over the land that nothing was seen until the heads were made. The Stella is to go into dock to-day, if it is vacant, for cleaning, repainting, and recoating below water line, of which she stands in much need. When she comes out, her next place of call will be at Cape Saunders. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Wellington, December 4. Sailed—Hawea, for the South, at 4.30 p.m. Passenger for Lyttelton—Miss Davidson. American barque Helen Angier, 133 days out, from New York. She brings 1200 tons cargo, half of which is for Lyttelton. The master reports experiencing terrific weather after rounding the Cape of Good Hope, getting nothing but gales from N.N.W. to N.N.E., ■with frightful seas.
