POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5. For Northern ports and Australian colonies, per Tararua, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.10 p.m. train. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6. For the United Kingdom, Europe, America, &c., via San Francisco, Australian colonies, and Northern ports of New Zealand, &c., per Rotorua, at 5 p.m. Late fee letters till 5.40 p.m. Money orders till 3 p.m. Registered letters till 4 p.m. Books and newspapers till 4 p.m. Railway van till 6.20 p.m. This mail is due in London on January 21st, 1879. For the United Kingdom via Suez and Brindisi on Tuesday, December 17th. The mail via Southampton will be duo in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1879. SYDNEY J.
