POST OFFICE NOTICES

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.; late letter box, guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Eingarooma, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.j late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26. For Otago, via Akaroa, per Wanaka. For Northern ports, per Southern Cross, The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christchurch on Friday, December 6th. This mail is due in London on January 21st, 1879. The next outward English mails, via Suez and Brindisi, will close at Christchurch ou December 17th. The mail via Southampton will be due in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1879. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
