The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Malcolm, loaded 60 tons cargo at the steamers’i wharf, and having taken on board passengers and a quantity of stock for the north purchased at the recent sales, sailed for Auckland via Wellington and East Coast last ni f he ship Langstone sailed last night for London. We wish Captain Croker a pleasant passage. The barque Vindex, Captain Hose, left Newcastle 7th inst., carried moderate breezes from N.W. to S. W. to Cape Farewell which was made on the 14th, seven days out. The wind then veered to the W. and N.N. W., at which point it increased to a heavy gale for a few hours, then moderated and took the ship as far as the Kaikouras on the evening of 15th. On the 16th the wind veered to the southward, and freshened up to a gale with heavy sea. On 17th had moderate N.E. and northerly winds, and on 18th entered the heads at 8 a.m. light baffling winds prevailing. BAEQUE WILLAED MUDGETT, FEOM NEW YOEK. The American barque Willard Mudgett, with reapers and binders and general cargo from New York, consigned to Messrs Wood, Shand and Co., arrived last night. She is commanded by Captain Staples, is a flue-looking vessel, and has been only 102 days on the passage. She spoke the barque Helen Angler, bound irom New York to Dunedin and Lyttelton, during the passage. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS. Nelson, November 18. Arrived —Edwin Pox, 101 days, from Plymouth, With 200 immigrants, all well. Five deaths of infants occurred on the voyage. Wellington, November 18. Sailed—Hawea for Lyttelton and South at 4 p.m. Passengers—Messrs Turning, Sherritf, May, Hunter, Stewart, Miss Prisat. Arawata for Lyttelton, at 3.30 p.m. Passengers for Coast—Mrs North, Mrs E. Mills and sou,(Mr Baldwin, Mr and Mrs Tolan, Mr and Mrs Eussell, Messrs Heale, Hayman and Barlow; for Melbourne: Messrs Wright, Hadley, Plumpton, Miss Mezz, Madame Tasca. Port Chalmers, November 18. Arrived—German barque Hong Kong, 46 days from Mauritius, with a cargo of sugar. 9 a.m.— Ladybird from Lyttelton. Bluff, November 19. The Eingarooma arrived at daylight. Left Melbourne at 4-.3op.rn, on the 13th instant; arrived at Hobart Town 11 a.m. loth. Left there 5 p.m. same day. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage. She left at 4 p.m. for Dunedin. Passengers— saloon: Messrs Dunn, Smith, Parkes, Alsop, Fuge, Mr and Mrs Graham, Miss French, Miss Ellis, Mrs Cotterill, and servant, Mr and Mrs Young, and 8 in the steerage. Sailed—Seagull, Alert, Anazi.
