POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations ; WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13xil. For South and Australian colonies, per Alhambra, at 1.5) p.m.; late letters, 2 10p.m.; guard’s yan, runway sea ion, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; IntJ letters 2.10 p.m.; guard’s van, railway fetation, 2,40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.; guard’s van, railway station, 4 n.m. train. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14. For Northern ports,, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m. ; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m. ; guaru’s van, lailway station, 2 40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3.15 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.; guard’s van, railway station, 4 p.m, train. The next mail outwards, via Suez (specially addressed letters only), closes at Christchurch on Monday, 18th November, The mail via Southampton Is due in London on January 20th, and via Brindisi on January 13th, 1879. The next mail outwards, via San Frincisco, closes at Christchurch on Friday, December 6th. The mail is due in London on January 21st, 1879. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
