The Customs duties collected here on Monday, October 21st, amounted to £1776 2s Bd. The items were;—Wines,£34l4s 6d; spirits, £24910a lOdj nlo, £6 12s 6d; tobacco, £BS 12s 6d ; cigars, £l6 5s ; tea, £46 28 6d; sugar, £l7; goods by weight, £B4 10s 3d; ad valorem, £717 8s 3d; other duties, £5lB 6s 4d, Messrs Aclaud, Campbell and Co. report having held a sale of Mr Millett’s property in Gloucester street known as the rink and stables in the Market Place. There was a largo attendance, and the biddings were brisk, all lots being sold at very full rates, the leaseholds and three ’busses having been sold privately for £4OOO. The horses, plant, &c., were then submitted to public competition with results as under :—26 horses realised £654, an average of about £25 each ; 21 carriages, buggies, &c., £7Bl, an average of about £37; harness and sundries, £378 ; double break aud break horse “ Jack’ 1 £135. Total of sale, £5940.
