Malls close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as tinder, subject to the necessary alterations : TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14. For Otago and the Australian Colonies, per Alhambra, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Taupo, at 11.30 a.m.; late lotters, 11.50 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16. For the Northern ports, per Arawata. For Kaikonra and Wellington, per Tni. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17. For Otago and Australian colonies. For Chatham Islands, on or about 23rd Oct. The next English mail, via Southampton and Brindisi, will close at Christchnrch on or about the 21st. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
