[By Telegraph,] [PEOII THB COBBE9PONDENT OP THE PEESS.] In the House to-day Mr Curtis brought up the report of the committee appointed to inquire and report upon the disputed accounts between the Government and the County Councils and Road Boards of Canterbury. The report read :—The public accounts committee laving inquired into the disputed accounts between the Government and County Councils and Road Boards, with reference to the deductions made from the land fund of £IOO,OOO for harbor debentures, and £127,000 for arrears of survey, have come to the following resolutions—l. Thaf. the intention of the Legislature was, as the Lyttelton Harbor Loan was a debt of the Provincial District of Canterbury, it has become a colonial liability, and, therefore, the £IOO,OOO should be paid to the local bodies. 2. That the £127,000 surplus land fund of Canterbury, deducted for arrears of surveys, is also payable to the local bodies interested. The committee append the evidence taken.
