Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary Bltertttions^u E g D AY, SEPTEMBER 26. For Northern ports, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Wakatipu, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 3.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. . For Wellington and Kaikoura, per Tm, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m, tram ' FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Claud Hamilton. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
