POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23. For Otago, per Taiaroa, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 pm. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 3 p,m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24. For Akaroa and Otago, per Taupo. A daily mail is closed for Otago at 7.30 a.m. The nest mail for the United Kingdom, for letters specially addressed via Suez or Brindisi, and for the Australian Colonies, India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, Mediterranean ports, &c., &c., will close on Tuesday, 24th inst., at 1 p.m. Late fee letters until 1.20 p.m. Money orders and registered letters at noon. Newspapers and l ooks at 12.30 p.m. Late fee letters may be posted in guard’s van, railway station, until 2.40 p.m. The mails will be due in London via Southampton on November 25th, via Brindisi on November 18th. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
