MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.

CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, September 20. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] Riotous Conduct. Charles Cook was charged with creating a disturbance in Scott’s Hotel on tho 19th inst. The barman do posed that accused came in and had a drink, for which he would not pay, and was also very troublesome. Witness repeatedly asked him to go away, but he refused, and continued creating a disturbance. Ultimately he was given into the custody of the police. Constable Harold said he was called to remove the prisoner, who was creating a disturbance in the Scotch Hotel, Durham street. Ho gave him two or three chances, but as the prisoner continued to create ft disturbance, he at last removed him to the Depot. A fine of 10s was imposed. Drunk and Disorderly. —George Brown, charged with being drunk and disorderly, was, on tho evidence of Constables Scott and Bullen, fined 20s, with the usual alternative.
