The Customs duties collected here on Monday, September 16th, amounted to £656 is Bd. The items were :—Wines, £4116s Id; spirits, £334 Is 7d; tobacco, £29 2s 6d ; tea, £l7 7s 6d; sugar, £l4B 9s 3d; ttoods by weight, £53 0s 3d; ad valorem, £l2 10s; othor duties, £l9 17s 6d.

At an adjourned sitting of tho Waste Lands Board, held yesterday, 6.6 acres 3 roods 35 perches Were disposed of, realising £1373 18s 9d. The land is situated as under:—Ashley, 240 acres ; Akaroa, 2 acres and 35 perches : Ashburton, 438 acres; "Waimate, 6 acres 3 roods. At the same Bitting arrears of pasturage rents amounting to £3050 was received by the treasurer.
