POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11. For Akaroa and Otago per Hawea, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Valparaiso, per Olive, at 11 a.m. Specially addressed letters only. THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 12. For Notheru Ports and Australian Colonies, per Taraua. The next mail for tho United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at this office on Friday, September 13th. at 4 p.m. Late feu letters till 4,20 Newspapers and 1 ookpackcts at 3 p.m. Registered letters and money orders at 3 p.m. Late fee letters may be posted in tho letter box of the guard’s van until tho departure of tho 5.30 n.m. train for Lyttelton, , , „ Tho San Francisco mail is due in London on 29th October. Tho next mail for the United Kingdom for correspondence specially marked via Suez or via Brindisi will leave Lyttelton per s.s. Ringarooma on Tuesday, the 24th September. The mails are due in London via Suez on November 25th, via Brindisi on November 18th.
