The Customs duties collected here on Wednesday, September 4th, amounted to £3685 6s 3d. The itoins wero —Wines, £24 0s 7d; spirits, £l9O 17s 7d; ale and stout, £lB7 13s 9d; tea, £9l lis; sugar, £25 Ob 2d; goods by weight, £3OB 8s lOd j ad valorem, £2400 10s; other duties, £457 4s 4d. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board held Thursday, sth September, 3100 acres were disposed of, realising £6200. The land is situated as under: —Ashley, 581 acres; Akaroa,9B7 acres; Ashburton, 672 acres; Geraldlne, 227 acres ; Waimate, 633 acres. ■ COMMEECIAL TELEGEAMS. Auckland, September 5. .Mr A. Mr Binney reports business in sound condition, but sales confined to trade requirements. Few wholesale lines were placed during the month. Flour remains inactive and shows no sigu of higher rates.
