The Customs duties collected here on Friday, August 23rd, amounted to £613 10s lOd. The items were as follows /—Spirits, £233 8a sd; wine, £l6 Is 2d • beer, £36; cigars, £ls IGs 7d; tobacco, £1 02s 6d; tea, £35 12s 6d; sugar, £26 Os 8d; ad valorem, £96 ; goods by weight, £144 9s. LAND SALE. Messrs H. Matson and Co. hold a sale of landed property on Saturday. The following prices were realised for sections in the Loburn township
The total amonnt realised for sections in this township was €747 10s. Forty-eight acres of rural land at Ellis’ Elat were sold at £3 3s per aero. The attendance at the sale was large, and the bidding spirited. Several other properties, in consequence of the lateness of the hour, were held over.
