The ship Duke of Argyll took her departure from Lyttelton for the second time at noon on Saturday. She was towed to sea by the p.s. Titan, the wind being light and adverse. The cargo has been to a certain extent rcstowed and an additional quantity of ballast taken aboard. Wo hope that the “ Duke” will make up for her unexpected delay by a speedy and prosperous passage. There have been no desertions from the ship since her return, showing that the crew not only liked the ship, but also liked and respected their captain and olliccrs. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, Angust 24. The lona was safely floated out of dock after a complete overhaul, and the Roderick Dim was docked. Wellington, August 24. The Hannah Barrett, from Pictou to Lyttelton, put in here this morning through stress of weather. Bluff, Angust 24. Sailed—Alhambra, for Melbourne, at 4 p.m. Timaru, August 25. Sailed— Barquentino George Noble, for Sydney, grain laden. Port Chalmers, Angnst 25. Arrived—Wakatipn and Hawea, from Lyttelton. Sailed—Vixen, for Algoa Bay. Wellington, August 26. Arrived—Elizabeth Carle, from Lyttelton. Hokitika, August 26. The steamer Waipara went ashore on the sonth Bide of the new channel this morning while discharging her cargo, and will be got oil at the evening’s tide. The Kennedy was off the bar at the time of the accident and would not venture in, returning northwards.
