Captain McGillvray, arrived in harbour from Northern ports at 8,15 this morning. She sai:B South at 3 p.m. to-day. The Wodonga arrived from Newcastle last night. The Queen of the West, Victoria, and Emperor, also from Newcastle, arrived this morning. All have made good passages and experienced flue weather. The Emperor spoke the ship Abcona off Gore Bay, bound North, on the 16th instant, and also the Kentish Tar, from Nelson, bonnd round Cape Palliser, off Wellington coast, on Wednesday, the 14th Instant. The Nonpareil, hence, arrived at Newcastle on August Ist; the Fairlie arrived at Sydney same day. The Emperor, Victoria, and Wodonga left Newcastle for this port on August sth. The barqne Pet, Captain Maun, is loading at Hobart Town for Lyttelton. The Swordflsh, brigantine, with a cargo of 70,000 feet timber, left the Bluff for this port on the 13th inst. The barque Elizabeth was towed into the stream by the Titan this morning, and will probably get away to-night. She is going to Brisbane with a Cargo ofproduce for Mr C. W. Tnrner. The Waratah cleared yesterday for Hobart Town, in ballast, and sails to-day.

Sailed—Wanaka, for Lyttelton and Dunedin, at 3 p.m. Passengers—Mr and Mrs Carpenter, Mr and Mis' Hadens, Messrs Scott, Waterhouse, Allen, Dnncin, Walker, Field, Shannon, Eoofe, and Mrs Grnbb. The Tui left for Kaikoura and Lyttelton at 6 p.m. Passengers—Mrs Ludford and 3 children, Mrs Sylvester, Mr Nichols. The s.s. Zealandia, with the July Londou mails, left San Francisco on sth August, contract date. The City of Sydney, with the New Zealand Jnly mails, from Auckland on the 23rd July, arrived at San Francisco on 14th August, one day in advance of contract date. Hokitika, August The steamer Waipara got off the beach and again tendered the Alhambra, taking away the balance of the West Coast cargo. The Maori was also tendered. Bluff, A ugust 16. The Ann Gambles was towed about forty feet, but not into deep water. There is not enough lifting power.
