The s 3. Tararua, commanded by Captain Sinclair, arrived in barbor from Melbourne via Hobart Town and Southern Torts at 3 a.m. this morning. She loft Port Chalmers at 4.30 p.m. on the 15th, and arrived as above. She sailed for Melbourne via Wellington, Nelson, and West Coast at 3 p.m. to-day. The s.fl. Rotorua, Captain Carey, arrived in harbor from Port Chalmers at 8 a.m. to-day. She sails for Sydney via Wellington, East Coast, and Auckland, taking the English mail to be sent via San Francisco at 4.30 this afternoon. The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cable advice of the arrival at London of the Fern|len from Port Chalmers, and the Ellora from 1 Southern Cross, with a load of produce for Hobart Town shipped by Messrs Royse, Stead and Co. and P, Cunningham and Co., also cleared yesterday. The ship Olive broke bulk this morning. The Malay, barque, was offered for sale yesterday by auction, but was bought in at £170(1, there being no higher bid. The Canny Scot sailed for Newcastle, in ballast, yesterday afternoon. The bulwark is proceeding rapidly with the loading of the railway plant, and it is expected to finish next week. . . , The Duke of Argyle was brought in yesterday morning and moored to the buoys off the Gladstone Pier. The steamer Waipara on returning from tho Alhambra got ashore on the point of the South Spit It is expected she will get oil to-morrow. Tho passengers lauded safely, but only half of the Alhambra’s cargo for the West Coast was discharged. The Alhambra is waiting in the roadstead till to-morrow morning. There is a heavy sea.
