The Customs duties collected hero on Saturday August 3rd, amounted to £555 19s 4d. The items wore :—Wines, £lllls ; spirits, £66 0s 3d ; tobacco, £29 12s 6d; tea, £24 15s; cocoa, £l7 9s; sugar, £94 8s; goods by weight, £6l 4s Id; ad valorem, £21110s; other duties, £39 9s 6d. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board hold on Monday, August sth. 4327 acres 1 rood, 8 porches wore disposed iof, realising £8(354 12s. The land is sitnated as under Ashley, 1764 acres; Solwyn, 1079 acres 1 rood 8 perches; Akaroa, 200 acres; Ashburton, 359 acres; Geraldine, 239 acres: Waimato, 88 acres. LAND SALE. Messrs Aeland, Campbell and Co. report having sold at Loe’s Leeston Hotel, on Friday Inst, 2nd instant, sixty-five sections in the township of Leeston, on account of F. J. Smith, Esq., clearing every section submitted at highly satisfactory rates. The attendance of buyers was good, and biddings spirited throughout the sale. The prices were as under :
