The Kildonau is a handsome iron ship of t»SO tons, and was bnilt at Glasgow by Alexander Stevens and Sous (bnilders of the Piako, &c.) in 1874. She has been running to the West Coast of America, and was at Callai> last voyage. This is her commander’s (Captain Williams) first trip to New Zealand. Her cabin is very nicely fitted, having the appearance of very great comfort. The voyage from Liverpool was uneventful, the only incident of importance being the unfortunate accidental death of one of the teamen, named Carls Brown, on July 31st. This unfortunate man fell from the main rigging, where he was at work, into the sea, and was drowned m spite of every possible effort having been made to save him. , , , . Made the South Cape of Stewart’s Island on Friday, August 2nd, and thence up the coast strong squally southerly weather, Dunedin Heads being passed at 5 p.m. on the 3rd, and the vessel anchoring in Lyttelton Harbor at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Spoke the Samuel Plimsoll from Plymouth for Sydney with immigrants on July 15th in 40 37 S. 102.51 E., 72 days out, all well. On Wednesday, July 31st, the weather being strong and squally, Carls Brown, a native of Hamburg, an A.B. aboard, was lost overboard out of the main rigging. It was about 10 a.m., and he was at work in the rigging, when he lost his hold and fell overboard.
