Wakatipu and Easby arrived from Por Chalmers this morning, and tailed for Sydney, via Wellington, this afternoon. ’the Akbur cleared the Customs at Calcutta for Port Chalmers and Lyttelton on the llth June The Wild Wave arrived at Melbourne from this port on July 2uth. The D’Arcy Pratt reached Sydney on July 17th, and the George Noble on the 19th. The Australian Sovereign reached Newcastle on July 22nd. The Tender sailed from Newcastle for here on July 16th. The barque Canny Scot, Captain Mauson, left Newcastle on July llth, and coming across had a succession of S.E. and N.E. winds, which compelled ihe barque to go south about. Came through Poveaux Straits on the 26th. S S.E. winds and thick weatuer then prevailed till Tuesday, after which had strong southerly to arrival at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The barometer fell to 28.85 during the run. The barque Malay, Captain Croll, left Newcastle on July 9th, and on Thursday, llth, experienced a S.E. gale, which after a time veered to the N E., and blew very hard, driving the ve sel 200 miles south of Cape Farewell. The vessel was blown right to the southward of Stewart’s Island, the Solanders being sighted on the 22nd, and the Snares on the 25th. Then had calms and variables till Tuesday, when a fresh southerly wind sprang up, lasting to arrival on Wednesday evening. M’Meckau, Blackwood and Co.’s s.s. Ringarooma, Capt. Clark, left the Sandridge Eailway Pier at 2 20 p.m. on the 24th inst., and clearod Port Phillip Heads at 5.40 same day ; passed Swan Island at 12.15 p m. next day, and experienced fresh to strong N. W. winds during the passage across ; passed the Solanders at 7.10 p.m. on the 28th inst., and slowed down steam for the night, entering Blutf harbor at 6.40 a.m. on the 29th inst. ; discharged 80 tons of cargo, and left that port at 4.30 p.m. same day ; experienced a moderate S.W. gale with heavy squalls along the coast, and arrived at Port ohalmers at dayoreak on 30th. Left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. on 3lst, and arrived in Lyttelton on Ist August, at 7 a.m , thus making the unprecedented passage from Port Chalmers to Lyttoltou of 14 honrs. She disenarged 64 tons of cargo at the Steamers’ Wharf, sailing for Wellington and Nelson at 3.40 p.m. yesterday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, Angnst 1. Heavy weather prevented tue departure of the Taranaki with the Southern mails. She leaves tomorrow. Wellington, Angnst 1. Arrived—ll a.m., Wauaka,from Lyttelton. The Underwriters’ Association report, under date London, July 30th Arrived, barque Adamant from Napier. Gretmouth, August 1. Sailed— St. Kilda, schooner, for Melbourne, with about 300 tons coal. The Grey bar is in splendid condition. There is not less than 15 feet at high water. Port Chalmers, August 1. Sailed—Eashy and Wakatinu. Passengers for Lyttelton—Mrs White, Messrs Baker, Holmes, McArthur, Bliyh, H. E. Nathan. ENGLISH SHIPPING. Arrived—June 12th, Antares, from Canterbury.
