The Customs duties collected here on Monday, Jnly 29th, amounted to £2BB 6a 7d. The items were .—Wines, £9 3s lid; spirits, £l2l 2s Id ; tea, £9B 10s ; sugar, £l3 13s 8d; goods by weight, £7 Is lid; ad valorem, £35 13s; other duties, £3 2s. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board on Monday, July 29th, 5905 acres 20 perches were disposed of, realising £ll,BlO ss. Tne land is situated as under Ashley, 1170 acres 2 roods 20 perches; Selwyu, 950 acres ; Akaroa, 767 acres ; Ashburton, 1628 acres 2 roods ; Geraldine, 652 acres; Waimate, 737 acres. An adjourned sitting of the Board, held on Tuesday, July 30th, resulted in the disposal of 1027 acres 3 roods, realising £2055 10s. The land is situated ns under Ashley, 111 acres ; Ashburton, 15 acres 3 roods; Geraldine, 90 acres; Waimate, 808 acres. WASTE LANDS SALES POE JULY. The total waste lands sales in the Canterbury district for the month ending this day amount to 78,832 acres 2 roods 27 perches, producing the sum of £157,065 6s 9d. Subjoined is a tabulated analysis of same, showing the total? of laud sold in each county, with the revenue derived from same; also the -0 per cent, on it returnable to such county by the Government.
