The Customs duties collected here on Tuesday, July 16th, amounted to «783 10s. The items wore —Wines, £lO 4s; spirits, £346 0s lid; tobacco, 2s 6d; cigars, £26 6s ; tea, £162 7s ; sugar, £4O 13s 4d; goods by weight, £132 10a 3d; ad valorem, £SB 2s j other duties, £1 4s. LAND SALE. Messrs B. Walton and Co. held a sale of landed property yesterday. The attendance was very large, but the biddings somewhat slow and dull, entailing on the auctioneer a large display of that oratorical power for which he is noted. The following sales were effected—Quarter-acre section with four-roomed cottage, in the Stanmore road, £133 6s lOd j lease of twenty-nine years of 31ft. to Manchester street, by 35ft. depth, was withdrawn at £2 per foot; three sections on Lower High street aud Wilson street, No. 2 section with 22ft. frontage, brought £165, and No. 3 £157; four sections on Hereford street west, next Public Library, 33ft. by 215 links, brought as follows: Nos. 1 and 2 £ls per foot each, or £957 the two; No. 3, £l4 per foot; or £462 ; section 4, £l2 10s, equal to £412 10s. Freehold property in Tuam street, occupied by Waller and Co., was bought in at £43 10s per foot, but since the sale has been placed under offer for £4t. Lease of Smith and Gilling's property on Tuam street, seventeen years to run, with a ground vent for the first three years of £33, second seven at £4l, and following seven at £49 10s, was bought In at £525. Total amount of Bale, £2500. Mr Walton also sold fifty New Zealand Shipping shares, £5 paid, at 85s per share.

LIVE STOCK MARKET. Mr E. W. Roper reports sales for week ending Saturday, 13th July:—Horses—Sales still remain very dull. Vehicles—Good demand for really useful traps and carts of all descriptions ; dog cart, £22 ; spring carts, second-hand, £lB to £1 Is 10s; drays, £l7 to £l2 10s. Cat'le—2o head yarded; medium milch cows just after calving fetched £l4 10a to £lO 10s; calves, newly dropped, 6s to 17s each. Pigs—--135 yarded ; 60 fetched 2s to 5s each, 35 fetched 20s to 38a, 50 fetched lis to 20s. Poultry—Cock turkeys each 9s 6d to 8s ; hen do, per pair, 6s 6d to 4s 6d ; fowls, per pair, 4s 6d to 2s 9d ; ducks, per pair, 7s to 6s 6d. ludoor Sales—Produce and Miscellaneous goods fetched good prices.
