♦ The Customs duties collected here on Wednesday July 3rd, amounted to £1297 Os lid. The items were :-Winos, £!> lis 5d ; spirits, £329 12s 3d- tobacco, £225 ss; tea, £l4O 18s; sugar, £282 4 s Id •' goods by weight, £73 Is lOd; ad valorem, £206 Bs;' other duties, £29 lis Id. At the sitting of the Waste Lands Board held on Thursday, July 4th, G 577 acres 2 roods were disposed of, realising £13,155. The land is sitnated as under:—Ashley, 1239 ncres ; Selwyn, 760 acres ; Akaroa, 284 acres; Ashbnrton, 2074 acres; Geraldine, 1432 acres; and Waimate, 782 acres 2 roods.
